For comparison we pay $1300 a month for a secondary retiree health plan, employer chips in $250. Medicare B costs us $370 a month each. So we and employer subsidy are paying almost $3000 a month. That's what it costs for a couple. It's expensive. We figure our Social Security all goes to healthcare of one sort or another.

Despite what the article says, those aren't subsidies. Try again. |
You mean like farmers and other things that our society has decided should continue to survive in the is country? Yes, I think people should have access to healthcare because I’m not an a-hole. |
Bless your heart you think Republicans are going to keep Social Security |
What do you not understand about how fabulous the ACA is? Go back to your hole MAGA |
LOL, it's so fabulous people can't even afford the most basic plans. Maybe it needs to be less fabulous and more affordable. |
Exactly. A large population made up of unhealthy, desperate people eventually becomes a threat to all who "have." I want to know the people in my community have what they need to care for themselves and their children. If not, then what? Who wants to live in fear. Soybean farmers can figure out another crop the population needs. Or find a new job, just like others are being told to in the face of federal job cuts and AI. |
| Any progress on anything shutdown related today? Or just this terrible holding pattern? |
There’s an implicit subsidy… the federal government is the anchor tenant that has allowed SpaceX to survive. |
FWIW I think the economic environment for small businesses is a lot worse this time around in large part due to the tarriffs and inflation which is why youre not seeing a lot of specials. |
LOL, payment for services rendered is not a subsidy. Keep trying. |
Senate reconvenes at 3, and there will be a vote at 5:30. |
When the ACA goes away Healthcare costs go up. How do you not understand that? When the ACA goes away Healthcare costs go up IE PROJECT 2025 not like they didn't write it down. |
Mike Johnson says that the Democrats won't negotiate until after the No Kings "Anfifa" protests this weekend, which signals to me that the Republicans aren't planning to talk until next week. |
Do you own stock in one of Musk’s companies? You sound very protective of them. |
