All these days off...

Absolutely bonkers we have another day off. If you aren't outraged by this Calendar, I don't know what to tell you. I don't care that your snowflake had 12hrs of Sports yesterday.

Meanwhile other states have fall breaks. I would rather have huge chunk of time off than day off every week.

This year is so bad. Every week, another day off.

Then go move to those other states. The amount of complaining here is epic. You’re so boring.

Imagine trying to call anyone a snowflake while having meltdown online because you can’t handle your emotions about a day off.

Sorry, that doesn't fit with the School Board's insane need to celebrate every religious holiday in the world.

I would much rather days off here and there, instead of one chunk. However, I won't be online whining if the SB does a fall break.

It’s peak DCUM on the FCPS forum.

This is utterly insane. I am just throwing money at camps for these days off. I’m lucky I’m able to, but it’s getting so expensive.

Would far prefer a fall break (although it doesn’t feel like the kids have been in school often enough to even need it!)

This was my thought exactly.

My whole family loves this calendar.

I taught school for years. These constant days off are disruptive to education.

And, I think those mocking parents complaining about them due to child care have a legit gripe. It's easy to be all for this when you are able to take the time off or provide entertainment for your kids on those days.

Not every parent has that ability. Child care is extremely expensive and this type of calendar is unrealistic for many, many people.

Mocking parents for complaints about child care would be one thing.

However. In this case it was mocking a parent who calls children snowflakes because they can’t handle their own emotions yet.

You mean a weekly day off for most of the Fall?? Yeah, imagine being outraged that the schools have moved to a 4 day week without notice to the taxpayers!

So privileged. And out of touch. And let's be real-probably dumb for not valuing education.

Without notice? There were entire meetings about this calendar open to the whole tax paying public. They send out an advance copy of the calendar every year.
