DC Murder is Up because of released past offenders, time for the death penalty and stricter laws?

Maybe people will listen up and get serious on crime instead of the softness going on right now.

The death penalty should be brought back!

Everyone freaked out about sentencing inequity but I remember when DC was crack ridden first in the nation for crime. Are these the folks getting out? A) we need much more robust programs for ex offenders b) maybe dc shouldn't be fighting to keep WalMart out - the more jobs the merrier c) robbery and murder should not be revolving doors

Oh for fuck's sake. In what way are we soft on homicide? I mean other than when cops are the perps?

Death penalty has no correlation with reducing the crime rate.

Or perhaps time to stop the school to prison pipeline as well as actually engage in rehabilitation and providing mental health and substance abuse services instead of throwing away people.

Continue to gentrify Washington, DC. It will reduce the violent crime rate in time.

A fair number of violent offenders who were displaced from DC now commute in from PG County to prey on victims..

Perhaps you should call in the oathkeepers to protect DC from the PG County criminals. Who would have known that criminals actually commute to commit crimes. Considering the number middle-class households in PG, I guess it only makes sense that the PG County criminals commute into DC to victimize the white residents of DC.

Exactly.

It's harder to live your whole life in prison without hope of parole than it is to face the death penalty.

Before I click, should I assume this is a white person? Did you consider the other upstanding people who were recently killed before posting, or is this a racial thing?

Crime.disgusts me. A young Howard student was killed last year by Howard. This year, two AU grads. These crimes are disgusting. I wish #BLM would ALSO focus on crimes. Not the PP.

Must be racial because EVERYTHING has a racial slant to it in your mind, no doubt.

Because apparently there's nobody to prey on in PG?
