What on earth does on have to do with the other? Quite frankly, I knew nothing about this woman - other than who she was married to - prior to this thread. Now I’m obsessed! Mainly because it’s just a silly distraction. Who on earth would do this? It’s like the Madonna fake British accent thing, but so, so much worse.

I do find it interesting that Eelaria’s parents are so very WASP-ish, but that she really does look Latina. I wonder where that came from?

I think mostly the bottle. I think she dies her hair darker, and puts on heavier brows to make herself look more Mediterranan. But I'd also note that some Welsh can look rather Spanish -- look at Catherine Zeta Jones. Also, Spaniard are really a mix of a lot of different things, so there are a broad range of people that could "look" Spanish For instance, take the Australian actor Don Hany, who is of Iraqi-Hungarian background -- if someone told me he was Spanish, I'd think, yeah, he looks Spanish. It's power of suggestion.

Sean Connery also Welsh, very dark, but didn’t pretend to be Spanish.

White European waspy people can and do have black hair and dark eyes and skin, even anglo saxon people, nordic people. Everyone isn’t a stereotype. Although I do believe Hillary’s look is enhanced shall we say.

PP here. I realize that, of course! I am a WASP with dark hair and eyes and a European background. But I take after one of my parents, who has the same coloring. I was just referring to her parents, neither of whom she resembles at all.

She could perfectly be blonde and be spanish. The fact that she felt the need to dye her hair black and darken her skin shows that she has no idea how diverse is spanish population and that she's actually trying to look latina, not spanish.

Take Clara Alonso, she's a spanish model living in NY. She actually looks very spanish, but wouldn't fit the stereotype that american people have of spaniards.

Discovered Hilaria Baldwin thanks to this thread. I actually quite like what I am seeing. She is very entertaining. Knowing she is not Spanish, I would love for her to continue doing the Spanish stuff on TV, it can be her tongue-in-cheek schtick. I will absolutely watch her on TLC for a reality show.

Thanks to this, most of America who did not know who Hilaria was are now curious about her. And most people are not triggered by what she has done because for 4 years we have been seeing worse behavior in public life.

This, except this will blow over because the only story here is how the story is unfolding. It's like inflation...value based on zero coin. There's no real story, only a concocted perception of something. She's done nothing odd or even unusual. Someone who is angry at either one of them got lucky for a few weeks. 15 minutes, as they say.

Actually not true. Con artists/scammers/grifters like this have gotten identical attention. It's pretty obvious nobody really liked Hillary/Hilaria much because the media has run with it.
