My 6 year old daughter seems to be really into water gym/dancing - she does all kinds of underwater flips and ballet moves, despite the fact that she's just newly independent in the water. She has a good sense of rhythm and can hold her breath quite well. Instead of ballet classes, which she finds boring, I thought I could enroll her in synchronized swimming. Are there any classes for that in the area and if your child is in one, what has your experience been? Thanks. |

There are a few:
https://www.our-kids.com/menu-index/144 You may want to try gymnastics if it doesn't pan out. |
Or diving. |
| My daughter started at the local YMCA and found a local team - her's then was the Potomac Pearls - but you'll find a couple. She did all the way through high school and college. Get used to gelatin and sequins! Great sport |
OP here. Thanks all! To the PP above, does it become grueling, with near-daily practice and expensive traveling, or is it more low-key? |
NP here. I used to be one and agree that it is a great sport for a girl. My DD is also very interested, but we could not find anything local. Please post any information if you have it. |
