Hogan says no to Red Line, yes to Purple

What do you think? I have not been following the pros and cons of the Purple Line as much as other people. I wonder what affect this will have on housing values close to the purple line stations (I live new New Carrollton metro). I think with this and his decision about educational funding earlier in the year, Governor Hogan is making it clear he prioritizes the rest of the state at the cost of Baltimore and the DC suburbs.

Shit.

But didn't he totally slash the funding for it? He doesn't want to be on record for having cancelled it, just handicap it so it never gets built. Clever.

No, the counties are going to step up. Brilliant move, and the right one. I am really impressed with Hogan.

Democrat here who didn't vote for Anthony Brown. I agree. I think Hogan's been thoughtful and pragmatic.

I bet it never happens anyway. Hopefully.

I live pretty close to the proposed Red Line route. Not sure how I feel about this.

Hogans base in the rural areas. He is just playing to his base and Baltimore/Washington is not his base.

This is OP. Do you think, if Hogan continues on the path he is on, that he will be re-elected? I think that if he peeves the people in Baltimore/DC enough, they will come out in droves and elect whoever runs against him in the next election.

Really, people, let's hope he lives. I can't imagine the stress he is under at the moment trying to be governor with a cancer diagnosis.
