Infertility Support and Discussion

Hi,
I was wondering if any of you knew when progesterone supplements are recommended. I am doing injectables (just started) with timed intercourse and no one has said anything about any type of progesterone supplement. I have a luteal phase defect and no other issues. I know the theory is that the injectables coax your ovaries into producing more of all the hormones, but I've seen so much about the progesterone supplementation that I was wondering when it was recommended. Is it something they determine from blood tests closer to the trigger shot or what? Thanks. |
| usually people start them right after ovulation -- so you take them during the 2 ww and some docs recommend taking them the entire first trimester if you get pregnant. they're either administered via injections (shots you give yourself) or vaginal suppositories -- not sure why one form is chosen over the other; i've always only had the vaginal suppositories. good luck! |
