Dd (who will be the last in her group to turn 13) wants to invite 5 girls to a Nats baseball game for her birthday.
Would you let the girls go down and get food together and use the bathroom without me (or DH) tagging along? |
| Yes, with the understanding that they must be reachable by phone, take no more than xx minutes (or whatever you decide) and not even think of leaving the park. |
and stay together. |
A group of six 13-year-old girls? I'm astonished that this is even a question. Yes, I would. Just remind them to stick together. |
I know, its crazy. I'd be fine as long as the girls paired up. |
| Yes. The rule is stay together, be back in an hour or less. |
Yeah, we let our 11-year-old son do this with his friend. He's familiar with the stadium because we've been there often enough, the kids know where our seats are (they carry their own stubs in case they get separated), and my son wears a watch. |
| Agree, with other PP parameters. It can be easy to get a little lost at stadiums - just make sure each girl retains her ticket so she can find her way back, get back into the section. |
| I would let my 9 and 10 yo go together. |
| We've let our kids do this since they were 9. No biggie. |
Sure. Just lay down the rules - each girl has a partner, everyone needs to keep their ticket stub, have a phone (if they have one) and DO NOT LEAVE THE STADIUM. Set a reasonable time limit for them to return, and let them know that you will embarrass the hell out of them and have them searched for if they don't return. |
| Is this seriously a question?! Land the helicopter, please. |
| I would also make sure all other parents know this is the plan. They may object for various reasons. |
Seriously? Should I let them know I'll have them wear a seat belt on the drive to the stadium too? |
| Yes, just give them a time to meet back up with you, no big deal. |
