I posted up thread that my kid had to go to 7 different bathrooms to find one unlocked. I think he missed most of class. And since someone said that only RWNJs care about this, I’ll note that I’m pretty LW. |
A few= all 2nd and 3rd floor bathrooms |
As posters ^ have stated, students can not and should not have to spend almost an entire class period looking for an open bathroom when they have to pee, poop or deal with their PERIODS. |
Keep voting for the same politicians who support this nonsense |
They don't at our school. I mean, sure, some bathrooms are locked, but most aren't and they're consistent so people know where to go. |
DC told me that one time, the entire 2nd and 3rd floor bathrooms were looked. It's not just "a few". |
Not at RMHS. They have a daily spreadsheet that shows which bathrooms are locked. Kids are supposed to check the list before they go to figure out which ones are open, except the wifi can be spotty and it takes forever to load. |
It is not just ‘a few’. At our MCPS HS, sometimes all the bathrooms on an entire floor are locked. Which high school are your kids at? |
This is insane. |

right? Imagine at your workplace having to do this when you have to go urgently. But, "it's not that bad" per a PP. That PP should live it for a month and see if it's not "that bad". |
Some students in middle school will hang out in bathroom because they want to chat with friends face to face, and/or use their cell phone where adults are not present. "Killing time". Academics weak children have more time. Sad. |
Yes they arrange via text to meet in bathroom but some coordinate and know when to go, which block to go to meet certain grade mate. Ban cell phones. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1204668.page |
*coordinate without cell phone |
In which Board of Ed meeting has MCPS discussed installing detectors in bathrooms? Do you know the date of the meeting? Or is this just "talk?" |
