When I touch the shin of my legs, like against the bone, I can feel some bumps the size of a lentil or smaller. They are under the skin. 2 or 3 on each leg.
They are not visible, no redness or anything on the skin itself. They do not hurt. I guess it is like a cyst, or little balls of fat tissue? No idea. What specialist would you go to? dermatologist? I am 44, I am not overweight, I work out twice a week, I am healthy. Anybody had this? Thank you |
Shin splints would be my guess. I've had them for like 20 years, since HS cross country and soccer. |
Mention it at your next physical. Otherwise, stop thinking about it. Are you depressed or something? |
It is not shin splints!
It is something under the skin! I am not depressed, only when I read some of these unhelpful replies. |
You're infested with egg sacks and soon spiders will Crawl out of your skin. Helpful? |
Even though I think you're being a bit rude, I'll still give advice. It could very well be shin splints. My shins feel like you describe from shin splints.
Other than that, it's impossible to seek a diagnosis online. If you're looking to see if anyone else had what you describe...2 people do. But you've dismissed that as the cause for yours. At this point just go see a doctor. |
OK, the reason I don't think they are shin splints is that they are bumps under the skin, and I can push them up and down or to the sides, they are not attached to the bone. |
And they don't hurt.

I have these, too, OP. I have them on my shins but also near my elbows and on my abdomen. They've just appeared in the last few months. Also not sure who to see. |
I'd see a dermatologist. Doubt it's anything serious, but I'd have them looked into. |
OP are you hypermobile? You might have nodules from Ehlers Danlos
Nodules: small, firm lumps just below the skin surface on the arms and shins. http://learnaboutyourpain.com/types-of-pain/ehlers-danlos-syndrome/ |
I have this too and think it is totally normal. |
