I'm a 58 year old dad. Recently I notice a distinct but slight tremor in my hands and fingers when holding them out in front of me. It is not interfering with anything, it is odd. Don't know what to make of it.
Anyone else in your family have these? Our family has a benign essential tremor with onset in middle age. Worth asking at your next checkup but I wouldn't panic unless it gets worse.
No, no one else in family that I know of. I won't panic and will wait for the next checkup. Tnx.
Are you taking any new medications?
My husband had them. Neurologist said it is normal. I'd see a neurologist just in case.
I'd see a neurologist too. But I also wanted to share that I went through a period of time where I was pretty shaky, and it was related to metabolism/blood sugar. Then I started thinking about it and it got worse. Doing better now that I've had blood levels checked and am supplementing deficiencies.
Not taking any new medications. I have been dieting (nothing drastic just counting calories and mindful eating) so maybe it has something to do with blood sugar.
Low B12 can cause this too. The normal levels in the US are set too low. Our cardiologist says he wants to see above 500 (I think the cutoff for labs is 200 or 250.) If you are a vegetarian, low B12 is a real possibility.
