I have found some good stuff online at Olliebollen and Polkadot Patch. Also try brands Zutano and Le Top. If you want to go to a shop, try Why Not in Old town Alexandria.

Try brands like Baby Lulu, Baby Nay... they have fun patterns and styles sold at boutiques and Nordstrom (you can also purchase online for much less on ebay). I've also lucked out here and there at Old Navy and the Gap. Good luck.

Gymboree, Old Navy, and Gap have all had good not-pink baby clothes - there are also a good amount of gender-neutral things and things that are in the boys' section but work for all babies. Everything black or gray tends to automatically go in the boys' section, for some reason.

kate quinn orgamics, tea collection, h and m sometimes, kiwi organics, zutano-- these are all brands where i have found tghings for my daughter that are feminine but are in more "mature" pallettes. I did not know if thats what you mean- you want girlish clothes that are not generic pink, right? some of these can be found at full of beans, wake up little suzie, and then online.

Try H&M at Tysons. They have really cute clothes for girls and much of it gets away from the pink/pastel palette for girls.

speesees.com - fun, organic clothes that are really comfy to wear (and they are having a sale this weekend!)

I second www.teacollection.com. Great quality, very cute, not "baby-ish"...but also doesn't look like you're dressing your child up as an adult. I got an outfit as a gift and it's not become my favorite brand. I usually buy online and can usually google for a coupon code to use. (They do sell a few items in Buy Buy Baby)
