Club Med Sandpiper

Do you recommend it for a few days? We are a family of four. Kids are 4 and 7. We are looking for a place where we can relax for a few days. How to go there from DC? TIA.

It's nice, but it's located on a river. There's no beach.

Went there probably 24 years ago as a kid with my parents and two sisters. It was sort of cold - I vaguely remember my mother walking around in a fur coat. We must have gone during Spring Break or something.

It was nice but I'd try for something on a beach - maybe Club Med Eleuthra or just a smaller resort around Naples or the Panhandle.

We loved it. The kids camp and circus were fun. We took our dd when she was 4 and it was memorable. My dad went after we did and loved it as well. He was almost 80 at the time.

The homemade bread was the best I ever tasted...many different types including chocolate.

we went with a 5 and 8 year old. perfect vacay--the 5 year old wanted to go back to kids club for dinner after spending 9-4 there! Who cares it isn't on the beach--there is a little river beach, the kids don't mind getting in, the adults don't have to get in. We had a rented car and drove to Jenssen Beach for a 1/2 day for our beach fix.

As long as you don't need beach waves, it's great. Was there with extended family group that included kids 0-6. Nice thing is that for a resort it's not very spread out, so running back to room for forgotten items or between pool/restaurant/kids club isn't a big deal.

PP here. DCA-PBI and then arrange transport through resort or travel agent.

Or rent a car. It's a 45 minute drive.

Reviews I've read range from "paradise with kids" to "too many cockroaches and ALLIGATORS." One review mentions both alligators and random 2-year olds walking into your room but she loved it anyway. http://www.ramshackleglam.com/2014/03/05/club-med-sandpiper-bay-mini-review/
