They involve/listen to the players. They are growing and increasing college placements YoY. They've allied with the top boys league to get more opportunities for their players. Must be doing something right.

aligning with the top boys league has nothing to do with getting their players more opportunities. GA showcases are on a serious decline as far as college coaching attendance and GA needs to fix this downward spiral. aligning with mlsnext will not get more girls college coaches to attend girls events. lmao

So playing at the Generation adidas Cup isn't an opportunity?

Not really. It’s a boys tournament with girl
All star teams. For exposure, players are better off playing at girls events.

More digital ink likely spilled about that than most girls events. Anyway, that was year 1. Let's see how it evolves. Maybe they can invite an ECNL all-star team next time and then you'll call it the greatest thing ever.

ECNL already has an ”all star” type game at showcases. It’s kind of blah. Better to play with team and familiar teammates.

GA’s biggest selling point is a boys event?

Wait a minute, weren't you just all about getting the most exposure? Now you're arguing it's better to play with your team or teammates? Which is it? Besides, what player wouldn't want to be on an all-star team, playing Euros? I imagine some recruiters/coaches will be seeing who stands out in those matches.

Are you guys still pretending those were real academy teams? The level was pretty low from them. It was probably their community or camp teams.

Ya that's what Acadamies want. Getting beat by American girls teams.

Play to win or go away. Nobody wants to hear losers excuses.

sorry pal but the truth is those European teams were NOT their top players at their academies. its just a fact. but going forward, it was a good start and event and a good marketing event for them. ga does has something to work with and can make a good event for more teams in the US and Europe in the future if they put it together right. . ga has a long way to go overall. its silly to argue otherwise. ECNL is the dominate girls league.

Sorry pal you have no clue and are just making things up and spinning it into an ECNL commercial.

Im sorry you werent invited.

considering my daughter played on the blue team and I was there, yeah the European players were NOT their top players. be smarter

college coaches headed to San Diego for the ECNL players.

Yawn. The more exclamation points the less believability.

Highly doubtful more likely a bitter ECNL parent who wasn't invited. :'-(

I was listening to a college soccer podcast from last June (after GA and ECNL playoffs) and the college coaches all seemed in agreement that ECNL had better overall teams. They said both leagues had talent at the top, but ECNL also had quality teams beyond those tops teams.

The college coaches were Robbie Church, Matt Mott and one other coach.

But ok, you keep telling yourself that the leagues are the same and college coaches see them that way.

My guess is they’ll talk about playoffs (GA and ECNL) again in their next podcast. But yeah, they seemed to agree that the ECNL had good teams after those top teams and the GA did not. But maybe things have changed over the past year?

Those coaches are really experienced coaches!

That’s not what anyone says. The biggest pro-GA people agree with those coaches. They say it’s where things are heading is what matters.

There arent any large Texas GA clubs.

If youre going to lie think about the details first.

this is correct. outside of about 15 GA clubs, the quality drops off significantly. it is just the way it is right now.

The quality of every league increases over time. Also every league has the top performers then generally everyone else.

Its not like the bottom half of GA is any different then the bottom half of ECNL. Im sure some parents want to try and think one turd smells better then the others. The truth is they both stink.

Except that's not true - the bottom half of the GA is significantly worse than the bottom half of the ECNL. This is proven in tournaments all over the country every year where they play each other.

Bottom half of each are about the same. Both leagues probably have 2-3 teams that clearly stand out in conference and the rest are below average.

Seems like the college coaches in the video PP mentioned disagree. No offense, but I'll take their opinion over yours.

You're arguing about which team that doesn't win is "better" when it comes to the league that they play in. Step back and think about what you're saying. It doesnt matter. Take off the college scholarship goggles your clubs is selling you. If you spent as much time and money as you've spent on youth soccer your kid could easily get a scholorship in anything else.

Getting better as an individual player requires playing against the best competition available, regardless of whether your goal is a scholarship or just individual development.
