I applied for a few jobs on Usajobs and have heard nothing. Will my status eventually be updated to reflect the fact that I wasn't referred, or selected for an interview, so at least I know? Or do some agencies just let you hang in limbo forever? |
Most agencies update the status, but I've had a few that never did. In some cases, the status was updated months and months later. Any time I got an interview I was notified and it always came by email from their HR department. |
I applied for nearly 80 jobs 5 years ago and only received notification on a few. Maybe 20%. |
Sometimes I get notifications over a year later and have no recollection of applying for the job by that point. |
No. |
Each agency is different but sometimes you will, sometime you won't. |
If you did not get a call for the interview three weeks after the closing - you were not selected. |
This has not been my experience. I once applied close to the closing date in February and was contacted in late June for an interview. |
I don't think that's true. For one job I applied for, I didn't hear anything until 6 weeks later when they called to schedule an interview, and for another, I didn't hear anything until 4 months later when they called to schedule an interview. Each agency is different and for most, 3 weeks is not that long. |
No don't assume that. Fed HR is e...x...t...r...e...m...e....l...y slow. Contact the HR POC after a few weeks. |
If you weren't referred, then obviously it's a no. If you were referred, it can take months before the status updates. Really depends. |
Your suppose to check your status on your application page. It gets updated randomly. |
+1 I applied for my current job in October, forgot about it completely, and was called to interview in February. I also applied for tons of other jobs and mostly got no responses. Super frustrating. |
No , the entire website is a joke mostly taken jobs that have to appear open |
I've always had jobs updated fairly quickly, but have only applied to a handful.
