The letter certainly appears to have cut out letters in it; quite possibly from a magazine. According to this CNN article the letter was received on Jan 22nd.

I wouldn't put it past Smollett to have had these guys send him a fake letter given how stupid this whole plot was but would these guys really still be holding stamps weeks after they had sent the letter? Guess we'll have to wait to see if the magazine did in fact have cut outs matching what was on the letter and if the stamps are the same kind as was on the envelope.

The fact that police collected it as evidence does suggest that they had some reason to be interested in it... Wonder what was on the #receipt (2nd from bottom on list)

What’s the return address on that envelope? Something A-G-A? MAGA?

If you care so much for truth edit the thread title. It’s incorrect. Jussie denied the MAGA line and only his manager stated he heard MAGA via phone convo.

I think it's terrible that Smollett was encouraging the PD to blame the two brothers.

Unless some behind-the-scenes "agreement" was in the picture between the brothers and Smollett, he was willing to allow two Nigerian men to take the blame for this "attack."

If this is the case, he needs to be fired, fined, and jailed.

If not, then I hope the PD find two MAGA-shouting, white males who carry around bleach and rope in arctic weather.

Why blame Smollet because the PD’s investigation led them to the brothers? He said from the beginning he couldn’t describe, much less ID, the attackers.

Seems they may not have had anything to do with it but happened to be in the area at the time. So it could very well be a white racist MAGA guy.

Based on the police statement that they got new evidence/leads from the interrogations, it seems the brothers knew something about what happened/didn’t happen.

The Chicago Police spokesperson just said:

"Media reports anout the Empire incident being a hoax are unconfirmed by case detectives. Supt Eddie Johnson has contacted @ABC7Chicago to state on the record that we have no evidence to support their reporting and their supposed CPD sources are uninformed and inaccurate."

I have no idea whether Smollett's claims are true or false. But, at this moment, the title of this thread has not been proven inaccurate.
