Many of the kids who did Algebra in 6th in the DCC didn't have the option in 5th nor did Dr. Li (don't even know who or what it is). The schools signed the kids up as a draw to go to those school lotteries. Combining Algebra/Geometry/Algebra 2 is a really bad idea as students are skipping key content. |
They are denying students of all races at these schools. |
There will be a whole new array of post-Integrated Algebra classes (four sets of two classes-- besides the calc pathway there'll be two-class tracks for quantitative reasoning, data and data analytics, and statistics and probability) so even if students complete Calc in sophomore year (probably not, since there will likely be a new class before pre-calc), they will have 3 other options for 2-class sequences to fill their math slots for the rest of HS. |
Good lord you have lost your progressive mind. |
We know you just have a beef with the DCC. |

Research found taking AP stem courses give students a leg-up for obtaining high GPA in college. |
Where are you getting all of these high achieving FARMS kids to form this segregated (by income) magnet? You can’t even get enough kids to run the classes you want at Einstein and that includes the not FARMS kids. |
And like, how do you know these kids even wish to do a magnet? Most kids don’t. |
It's a dumb idea obviously, I'd guess proposed by someone who has no familiarity with high FARMS schools. Just be aware you aren't just talking to one person. This is an anonymous board. |
There are enough students, there are not enough teachers. |
What is your point? All your posts give false information and you are just nasty. |
