What a cluster of bad management. |
Tricky and interesting article. It says in successive sentences that Nysmith was interested in absorbing students and, separately, that two pro-Palestinian sixth graders were behind the bullying effort but stops short of connecting the two (though insinuated). Of course, and absorbed student from KAA wouldn’t start until September.
Anyway, Nysmith sounds like a full-on opportunist and anti-Semite combining into what sounds like a world-class a**hole. |
It's all heresy unless you were there. Prob the parents did not handle things well and I agree as a private school HoS you may be in for PR nightmares by expelling a family with 3 kids before term ends.
No idea what happened and reserve judgement but I'm sure glad I picked a different school! I do believe though in the current political landscape, the threat of both crying anti semitism is both too easy and unfortunately legit - it can go either way as sentiment leans heavily passionate on the whole ME issue. It's sad it's come to these times in the US when we are nowhere near the ME. |
Heresy? Were they burning them at the stake? Or for PP, the steak? |
The school's attorney reached the result desired by the school. Lawyers to it all the time. Nothing surprising here. |
I am shocked and appalled that the other non jewish parents in that school didn't absolutely flip out and hit the roof at the school for having their young elementary kids draw a giant, positive, happy poster of effing Hitler then had the audacity to take a picture of them smiling holding the hitler picture, then blasting the happy hitler photo of my kid out to who knows how many people Wtf is wrong with the leadership, teachers and parents at that school?! Are they all a bunch of psychotic, antisemitic, hitler loving sociopaths? On what planet would that poster and photo be okay for any rational civil person's minor child? |
In the end, the school proudly had a bunch of what appears to be 2nd graders draw a giant picture of hitler, then proudly send an email showing the happy exited kids with their big giant hitler mural. Disgusting. |
It sounds like if tou have concerns and don’t simply praise the leader…,No school for you!! |
This. |
This is an odd assignment for young children, even if they are gifted. The six traits are manipulation, self-interest, lack of empathy, deceitfulness, goal-oriented, and cynicism. With this context, you could see why the students in the picture made the selection that they did.
I am not sure if I want my 7 year old to come home with new ideas on how to use manipulation and deceit to get more screen time. Are these the values that parents are paying $46,000 a year for their children to learn? Irregardless, it showed incredibly poor judgment for the school to display that picture in a group chat or school distribution email or whatever.

Nysmith School needs professional PR help, and it should start with a sincere apology to all parents for the pain and inconvenience that the school caused, followed by a full refund for the 24-25 school year for all 3 children. That should moot the AG's investigation and allow the families to move on.

That's true of any private school. Get "emotional": at the HoS at your own risk. |
Maybe because... that's not what happened? |
That’s because they are irrelevant unless you’re an angry parent with money whose kid didn’t get into AAP. |
Does anyone know what remedies could potentially apply if the allegations are found to have merit? |
