From The Washington Post (4/3/15):
"AS D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D) approaches her 100th day in office, a clearer picture is emerging of her priorities and how she hopes to achieve them. She has put together an impressive administrative team and taken an approach to issues confronting the city that is thoughtful but decisive. While her mayoralty is still in its infancy, residents should be encouraged by her early weeks in office." http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/mayor-bowser-makes-a-good-impression-in-her-first-100-days/2015/04/03/619f524a-d975-11e4-b3f2-607bd612aeac_story.html So despite the dire warnings of some DCUM posters, it appears that she's doing a pretty good job. |
| I think she is doing a pretty bad job. She already scrapped the museum at Franklin Park and the Center City Middle school. That is a ton of destruction for 100 days. |

I am not sure that everyone will leave the final evaluation of the Mayor's success to the Post which endorsed her something like a dozen times. That's like saying the Washington football team's cheerleaders decided that the team had a pretty good opening drive.
I haven't read the Post article, but I wonder if it mentioned that she has already had to fire two members of her administration: one whom was hired despite having previously been convicted of stealing government money. That she cancelled a popular development project, apparently on false premises. And, that her schools budget puts DCPS's best comprehensive high school at risk. I'll concede that her administration is not a disaster -- and I never expected it to be a disaster as a review of my previous posts will show -- but, it is not all roses either. There are some very worrying signs that should not be ignored. |

She also nixed the renovations of 20+ schools in ex an he for extended an ill-conceived streetcar line to Georgetown (forehead slap!). Plus, she's pushing the Corizon healthcare contract at the DC Dept of corrections through, when one of chorizos shareholders is a contributor to her campaign.
She's a reed in the wind and I think she's doing an awful job of cutting out graft and doing what's best for the most disenfranchised of this city. N not impressed. |
| Sorry, I need to stop trusting autocorrect " In exchange for" and "corizon". |
Yes, "chorizos" is an unfortunate autocorrect. |

I swear to you I've never typed that word. Blame apple.
And I doubt Mr. brown will be offended: http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2015/03/24/3636849/questionable-ethics-private-prison-health-care-company-gunning-dc-contract/ |

She wants to raise taxes - however, she hasn't addressed the IG's report on homeless services (solve that first. Get the money that is being overbilled, then ask me for a tax increase)
She wants to take power from the AG's office even though DC residents voted for the office - but she goes to the hill and wants autonomy She dictates her council choices for wards 4 and 8 - people are afraid of not supporting her b/c she is known to be vindictive. She just needs her majority to raise taxes, cut spending in education and take power from the AG's office so that there are no checks and balances. Just wait, she is and will be a nightmare. |
She HAS started raising taxes - our house assessment value came significantly higher this year (with no significant change either in the property or the neighborhood) |
Tell people to stop wanting to move to DC and your house assessment will stop rising. |

You have elected the real crook; not Gray who lacked political judgement but was not trying to line his or his friends pockets. Brandon Todd will help her solidify control. Native Washingtonians who knew Fenty predicted this would happen because this is what he was doing (covering it up with the dog parks and bike lanes). They will line their pockets and thanks to the DCUMers and similiar minded voters we will be powereless to stop it.

LOL and you think the Mayor was responsible for that? |
| Didn't you know that the Mayor reviews every proposed assessment? I heard that she told OTR to hit Wards 2 and 3 with the highest increases. |
You are one of those who believe that the city of Ferguson had nothing to do with the police fines to raise revenue, correct? |
That's a good one. Thanks for sharing. |
