I think it is a waste because you usually just need a BA to get a job as a legal or project assistant. plus the earnings starting out don't justify the cost.

Or just lie about having it. After a few years of experience nobody will care about it anyway.

I'm a paralegal but I have a bachelor's degree and have been working for two years (no paralegal certificate). I can tell you that almost every firm will value experience over a para cert or even a bachelor's.
