Lowell for K. We are thrilled as it is the right place for our DC. Are we supposed to call and decline on the other schools?

Yes, I'm sure the ADs and those on the waitlists would really appreciate it. Email or call.

Yes. Once we got the admit letter from our top choice, we called the other schools right off on Monday AM and turned down our acceptances in order that they could contact W/L families as soon as possible. We also called a second choice school where we were on a real W/L in order that other families would move up on it. Just think of how thrilled you are to know that your DC is going to Lowell, then put yourself in the shoes of a family on the W/L of another school and how thrilled they will be to know where their DC is going this fall.

Did you leave messages on the AD's voice mail? Just wondering how to properly let them know.

Thanks.

Yes, we tried to reach the ADs, but could not get through, assuming they were talking with families on W/L or had been denied admission. We left VMs in order that they got the message as soon as they could. We thanked them for their time and their offer. I may now send an email in order to double down on their getting the message.

Sorry I'm just getting back to forum, we are turning down sheridan and burgandy farms for lowell. I have to admit that I applied not knowing that much about it but after all these months of interviews and playdates and getting to know more about each school I now know that lowell is right for my very shy child. We got waitlisted at sidwell. I was very surprised that we didn't get outright rejections anywhere since my dd is so shy and sort of introverted. I do think lowell will help her become less shy! This forum has been a blessing in helping me figure out little things about the diff schools.
