My 8 year old went last summer for 6 weeks and loved it, he's talked about it every sense and can't wait to go back for all 9 weeks this summer! To me it's the way summer should be, yes there are a lot of planned activities, but there's also a lot of room to run around and be a kid -- catching frogs in the creek, building bridges out of fallen wood, etc . . .

Although I think it's incredibly expensive, it's also worth every penny. I highly reccommend this camp.

My two sons (13 and 10) will be attending Valley Mill for their 4th year this year. They love it, and plan to continue through to become counselors. They come home tired and filthy every day. They have learned a lot of new skills, from fire-building to canoeing. Yes, it's expensive, but you don't have to drive them anywhere.

i taught at valley mill this summer and i was the head of gymnastics for the girls side. Everybody is so kind, friendly and the atmosphere is great. this was the first year i taught at valley mill being an international and i felt like i had the best experience because everyone was so helpful. The children make Valley Mill and the counsellors buzz with enthusiasm. I feel i have made really good memories with the children and the staff and i feel the camp is really good in helping children achieve new skills that benefit them through their lives. I look forward to going back and teaching this summer!!!!

My now 8 yr old son has enjoyed the past two Spring Breaks at Valley Mill Camp. He loves the outdoorsy, nature style and enjoys rock climbing and canoeing. He's all wiped out by the time the bus drops him off in the afternoon. We're planning to perhaps do the summer camp in 2010.
