Dominion vs SGF

Anonymous
Does Dominion have a better success rate percentage than SGF because they are a smaller practice with only 1 location versus SGF with a bigger practice and multiple office locations? I have been at SGF unsuccessfully for almost a year. I'm thinking about switching but the commute to Dominion in the mornings may not be an option for me because of work. Just wondering if those percentages are accurate....

I can't say anything about Dominion's policy, but I can say that Shady Grove is giving me a chance at IVF even though my numbers suck. (I know I wouldn't make GW's FSH cutoff, for example.) I also have a friend who conceived at SG when she was 43 - it was via IUI, but her next step would have been IVF, and they were more than willing to let her do it with her own eggs.

So it is possible that Dominion is more selective.

If Shady Grove is changing your protocol in response to your failed cycles, I wouldn't change. It wouldn't be worth the effort, IMHO.
However, if they are doing the same thing repeatedly and it isn't working, head to Dominion or anywhere else.

I think a lot of fertility treatment is art, the same thing isn't going to work for everyone, so they need to start with commonly works for women in your situation and then alter it as they see you specifically respond. Also, it takes far more time than we want. It took 2 1/2 years and several different types of treatment for them to get me this pregnant (7 weeks) and we still don't have any guarantees that it will stick.
