I heard the Republicans were calling him all weekend - Cassidy, Toomey. I bet McConnell read him dry over the phone. Graham visited in person.

But Toomey also basically threatened him in public.

But he doesn’t care what they think. If we’ve learned anything he operates solely based on his own bottom line. Wonder what they threatened him with to get him to cave. Because he completely caved.

He's aligning with the Dems against the Senate GOP because he's trying to curry favor with the new Democratic Administration. He wants something from the Dems. What could it be?

This is how he thinks and operates.

According to CNN Perdue hopped on a emergency flight to Florida and begged Trump in person to pass the relief bill. Presumably the day after Christmas.

He is mad that the House and Senate GOP did better than him. They won and he did not. It is pure vindictiveness.

Upping this thread to talk about current negotiations with the new Administration. Moderate GOP are meeting with Biden today. I hope he makes them feel embarrassed about coming to him with such a ridiculous lowball.

Biden needs to drop 15 dollar minimum wage.
Then the republicans can come up with a better number.

They don’t have to agree. Democrats have the votes to pass without the Rubs.

It is not clear that the $15 minimum wage can be done under reconciliation. Also, I would assume that Biden started out high knowing if they negotiate that they will want him to come down. Similarly, they came in low knowing there is room to negotiate. I think if there is a group of reasonable Rs that are willing to negotiate that is a good thing for other legislative goals that cannot be done under reconciliation.

Independent analysis show that this is a boon to the GDP and the economy. I wasn't for it before, but after reading the paper from UC-Berkeley, I am more convinced its the right thing to do.

The governor of WVa has also come out for the Biden Bill. That puts a little more cover in for Sen. Manchin.
