You can get a booster shot @ CVS

Is a booster of the same shot expected to be effective against Delta and other new variants?

She said her friends have gone to get theirs but she is going to wait until her community has a clinic. I asked her if any are compromised and she said they are not. So I asked if CVS is specifically making booster appointments or if they just went for a third dose. Her reply was that all she knew was they said they went for their boosters. I have a feeling they just went but CVS didn’t give the shot as a booster.

My mom is probably one of her friends .She just got a 3Rd shot as a healthy 79 year old. Her doctor said it was OK to do...did not really encourage it but said it might help. Many in her community seem to be doing it. She wanted me to as well. I am waiting. 49 JJ person.

or your vaccine weakened your natural immunity.

Since you are clearly a super educated scientist, please explain how this works to us laymen.

Start with there has never been a medically verified case of having covid twice. Add to this, that the tests are quite imperfect, and have been for a long time; they pick up dead virus, for instance.

This is completely untrue. I know multiple people who had COVID last year, had it again this year, tested positive both times. Some of them were even vaccinated.

Anonymous wrote:For those who went and got the booster early, what were your side effects? I happened to be pretty sick with my second shot of Pfizer so I’m a bit concerned I may be unwell when I get my third shot September 20

I had exactly the same symptoms as my second shot: A sore arm.

They got vaccinated in JANUARY. They got their immunity tested last week to see if boosters are necessary and their tests were just as strong as when they first got it. Boosters for all makes no sense, particularly when the majority of the world still hasn’t had access to even a first shot! Variants are going to develop from those people not from y’all fully vaccinated people with zero need for another shot. And do t get me started about the fact that safety of boosters is completely untested!

Did they get Moderna? I have read that Pfizer fades more quickly (I think mine is like 40% now).

Immunocompromised can include people who are stressed. I agree that it's not a definitive group of people.

But they give examples of conditions, and you are attesting that you are similarly compromised. So no, stress would not cut it. But of course you can lie if you are comfortable signing your name to that.

I attested to not being immunocompromised. Yes, I’m quite comfortable. Thanks.

You cannot get the vaccine appointment without saying in one screen that you meet the criteria for a shot. The fact that you later said you’re not immunocompromised doesn’t negate the first lie.

My mom felt her doctors recommendation made her qualified. Her sister's doctor told her not to wait as there will be another big rush when appointments are unavailable..

I’m 100% comfortable with that. You may not be, and that’s OK.

To be clear: the first CVS screen takes you through a list of factors that would include or exclude. "Don't know" is an option for answering all of them. I answered "don't know" to being immune compromised (that item does not link to a CDC list) and it allowed me to proceed.

When you click to make the appointment it has boilerplate including language about how if this is a third shot, you're saying you meet the criteria.

I interpret that combination of questions and answers and not being bounced out of the queue as meaning that the second item is butt-covering for CVS in case you decide to sue.

Troll we see you. The booster are safe. You are an idiot.

I thought the booster would be a modified version of the original shots. Tweaked to better deal with variants. Is this not so? Is the "booster" just the same shot as before?

Same as before. Tweaked for variants is way out.
