+2 It’s a win-win situation for libs, too. They hate cops, and they also hate people being able to own guns, too. So skyrocketing crime rates because of a lack of police also gives them a platform to demand further gun confiscation. So there’s no downsides to high crime rates as far as they’re concerned. |

I've given up caring. The liberals don't even pretend to care about them and yet these people are dumb enough to keep voting liberal. Why the heck should the rest of us continue to care?
As long as they're just killing each other and not people in other cities who want a society with law and order. |
Where in god’s name is this awful biz? |
Liberals will benefit by demanding more social welfare government and private entities to address the issues. This will create jobs for liberals with little to no skills. |
Better yet, they could be agents of change by becoming a police officer! |
It’s the drug test stupid. Until LEOs relax requirements, it will be hard to get people. The Teamsters are pushing to allow truckers to drive if they use marijuana. Other trades are also eliminating drug tests. |
| They should outsource this job. I bet I can get enough people to take on policing jobs from my country and they would not even use guns and shoot people down. |
You will need a constant flow of new recruits to replace the dead cops who won't "shoot people down." |
That’s crazy low. I have several family members who are LEOs in other states who make a decent living, especially with overtime. I get that people don’t want to pay more in taxes but geesh. Services won’t be there when people need them. |
It’s immature to call someone stupid. But putting that aside, you’re right that the drug screening questions are problematic, as are some of the other screening questions mentioned above. But, in addition, raises have not kept place with inflation, most jurisdictions have started cutting back on the pensions, and the risk really has increased as more criminals own more guns that have higher fire power. It’s not like the 80s and 90s. The Supreme Court has limited what we can do with gun control, but we can raise pay, loosen up some of the requirements relating to past recreational drug/alcohol use, and get communities of color involved in trying to recruit law enforcement officers. I agree with many of the reform initiatives but I think they need to be combined with these efforts as well or the only people joining the force will be the ones jonesing for a gun and a badge. |
Nope. We need a world where people who create jobs get tax breaks or, alternatively we automate everything. Ever hear the expression “if you want to get something done, ask a busy person to do it?” Sake here. You want a great economy (and high I do) get the doers doing. |
| All the BLM folks screaming for police reform, here is your chance to step up and really do some good. |
| I mean, it's Detroit. Do that many people even live.in Detroit now? Isn't it reverting to nature? |
| Thanks blm |
