We are all vaccinated. It’s time to go back FT ... just like schools all over the country, world, and this region. History will not look at you kindly. |
Having an extremist view that all schools should act like it’s 2019 and ignore the pandemic is ill-informed.
Heck even the Great Barrington “force schools open” liars (who are all funded by Betsy DeVos-allied billionaires - Google AIER) recently said their manifesto wasn’t serious. |
Again, schools everywhere are completely reopen. Teachers unions now concede that the challenge is convincing families to return, not safety. Your argument has zero purchase. Get out of the way. |
Ok pandemic addict - but you can keep your kids locked in the house virtually learning if this is how you feel. Schools all over the country, even in blue states are open. People like you are going to keep us in this forever. Guessing you wear an n95 alone in your car and give people dirty looks at traffic lights that don’t. |
So? I'll be DEAD. It's not like I was Hitler, I was making a choice based on my family. Isn't that the argument you use all the time when you avoid schools with too many non-white kids? |
Do you need help making a vaccine appointment? |
1. The vaccine is not a cure. 2. We legit have no clue how long it last. 3. I am vaccinated and teach in person as of term 4 because that was the time that worked for MY family. So do you need help understanding that since DCPS gave teachers a choice they are making it? Thanks. |
No one is saying that you were wrong to take the leave. Thank you for your hard work and let's all unite to get the kids back in school as soon as possible. |
Wait wait. How is DCPS doing any worse than Fairfax or MoCo or PG or Arlington or Alexandria? They are managing a pandemic with inequities far greater than any of the above. People. Please. |
This made me actually laugh out loud. She's a complete shill for central office. |
High schools and middle schools in all of those counties are providing half time in person instruction to every child that wants it, in addition to elementary schools. That's a huge difference. DCPS is offering only about one hour of in-person instruction per week to middle and high schoolers and with no guarantee of a spot and is not offering a spot to every elementary student. There is also a huge gap in the quality of IPL with poorer wards of the city having a far greater proportion of CAREs classrooms. With vaccines and the proven trach record that schools can be safely reopened with precautions, all of us need to get on board to get the schools open. |
+1. And now DCPS is even redefining the term "In Person Learning" to mean something other than teachers teaching the students in the same classroom. It's like watching Bill Clinton challenge the definition of the word "is" all over again. |
DP here. I was never in favor of DC giving you a choice. In fact, I'm not sure it was a choice more than caving after the WTU went on strike (after months of disingenuous discussions) |
