10 kids to Yale before IVY day? Impressive.

Then why all the complaining? Maybe the same 10 kids are getting all the acceptances because another ongoing thread wants UVA to accept 80% of TJ’s class. That sounds desperate.

Maybe because TJ has more than 10 students per class?

Using Naviance for UVA, I had thought it would be around 60 kids. 4.55 by Junior year is amazing. I also wonder if it is possible to keep excellent EC's along with this rigor as ivy's care about those as well.

How are you obtaining 60 as a number using Naviance? Surely not counting the number of discrete green ticks (+red Xs) for UVA between 4.4>x<4.99? I only see visuals on Naviance scattergrams, no raw numbers.

The highest GPA for 2020 (last year) was 4.61 (or thereabouts). I recall reading this in some document that TJ put out. Assuming this to continue into 2021, you probably have the top 10% of the kids in the 4.5 to 4.6 range end of senior year which would likely translate to 4.45 to 4.55 end of junior year. I'm speculating of course. 4.4 by end of Jr. year is good but not great. May get you into T20 schools assuming the kid has good ECs.

Wouldn't there be a .1 increase between junior and senior year? So a 4.4 junior Gpa will become 4.5 if all ‘A’s?

I am the OP for the 80% thread and I have no kids at TJ.

I am the OP of the comment you’re responding too. If TJ students are getting accepted to lots of great schools, why should UVA accept 80% of them? Bragging rights?

That’s why I started a different thread.

You're the reason why DCUM is a shithole. So ugly!

You’re not going to get a lot of accurate responses to this question now. Just rumors. TJ culture is to stay quiet until Decision Day out of respect for others. The most you’d see are some fleeting (they disappear after a 24 hour window) Insta stories posted by a friend (low key flex) and even that, mostly from the girls. Most boys stay under the radar.

Be patient and wait a little longer. Good luck to all.

As of now, it's been confirmed that there are 8+ admits to MIT and 10+ to Yale for TJ kids. Looks like a decent year.

how has this been confirmed? Because a random post on this website said so?

Yale admitted around 800 early. so if it's 10+ from TJ alone (which appears to be double what they send in most other years), then over 1% of all early admits to Yale came from TJ. You might be buying that, but it sounds sketchy.
