Lol! I find this so weird. I’m not Julia. As an AA woman in my 40’s, lol. I’m far from being Julia. But I am an avid reader of their blog. Been following along time. I mentioned up post that I am a professional but can’t afford the new way they are living. I hope they clarified everything for you. lol |
🤷🏽♀️ Not Julia of her assistant. Just a 40 year old female attorney who loves decor. Sorry! |
Excuse all of the grammatical errors. Talk to text. |
I loved it. She’s making it a cozy theatre room. They have always loved dark colors. Frankly, I’m happy to see it. It seems like she had jumped hard on the bandwagon of doing white and trying to be like everyone else. CLJ doesn’t always make the best choices (hello music room and too many arched) but this room isn’t one of them. |
Obviously disagree, greenish black walls is just gross, regardless of the room’s purpose. |
She is so smug and I hate that she does swipe ups for lipgloss for her plump lips when anyone who has followed them for more than a year knows her lips were half the size they are now and no amount of gloss alone will cause the bee sting look she has.
She is horrible at size/scale in this house and every kids space she 'designs' looks drab, dreary, depressing and like a grandma designed in 1980 |
Whatever you think about their style, they are incredibly successful and have plenty of imitators. I personally haaaaate the music room color but it seems to be gaining traction. Looks murderous to me. However, I love the sweet yellow cabinetry and striped wallpaper in the playroom. Spend enough time on pinterest and instagram and everything starts to look exactly the same, so it is nice to see someone making different choices even if they don't always hit the mark. Ultimately I can't judge because my own house looks like crap. |
I agree that her scale isn’t always on point. She did move from a much smaller home though. She isn’t a designer but I do think she has talent and like how she puts things together. Even the granny chic rooms are nice just not my style, nor the style that I had come accustomed to liking from them. There’s no denying that the exterior is killer. Worth the 200k they put in. |
I believe Julia is heavily influenced by Shea from Studio McGee. Her new style is more reflective of their style with a bit of CLJ thrown in. I do love the playroom, the closet, living room (although the arches are overdone) here’s hoping she will put the basement door back on and not arch it. I love the exterior. The dining room is lovely but just seems impractical. I also wish she hadn’t hung curtains. My house isn’t crappy but even with the things I don’t like, I would chose her house over mine. lol |
