+1. $65 for a slip is utter foolishness. |
You’re not making sense. Hanna Andersson used to the be the place that fit your direction to “shop elsewhere”. And you listed places with similar quality. |
Hanna Andersson is pretty awful nowadays - there is a VERY noticeable difference between the hand-me-downs I received 6 years ago and the new items I bought for my current three year old. It's not worth the money. I'm going to stick to Primary with cheaper items from Old Navy/Target/Carters thrown in for patterns. |
Random question for OP - why are you buying slips for your children? What do your kids need slips for? Mine wear cartwheel shorts under their dresses. I haven't seen a slip in 30 years... |
I’m pretty sure it’s part of the dress. |
Don't your kids wear slips under loose low necked or flimsy shirts? I buy camisoles/tanks. I don't want my kid bending down and showing everything when she is playing. |
That is a shame about the return policy, but I do get it. My kids are older, but I used to purchase some items from the store for my daughter—mostly from their sale rack or outlet store. However, I never ever saw the merit in buying ahead because I always felt like it was a waste of money. What if you buy ahead and your kid doesn’t fit into the clothes? Then you have spent the money already and you have to spend your time going back to the store to make the return. Seems like a total waste for me. Not to mention storing the clothes in space I do not have. I’m assuming that most people just give the clothes away, which again for me is a complete waste of my time and hard earned money. |
They also no London ship to store. I used to order from them and have it sent to Montgomery Mall. I refuse to pay shipping. |
I do think HA is about to go under, which is a shame, because it used to be great quality.
Also wondering about Garnet Hill, since they rarely discounted but are now sending me 30% off + free shipping emails weekly. |
LL bean never had sales either and now they do...after they changed their return policy. I assume the quality went down. |
Looks like it: https://www.pehub.com/2016/08/l-catterton-buys-childrens-clothing-brand-hanna-andersson/ Interesting that in 2016 it was reportedly profitable and the new owners were focused on "rapidly expanding" their retail store presence. Wonder if they over expanded and can't keep up now? |
Was it bought out by a hedge fund looking to suck out all the profit? That’s what happened to Gymboree and why it went out of business. |
What’s wrong with seeing a prepubescent child’s bare chest? |
No, I do not make my child wear a camisole underneath a shirt. If a shirt is so transparent that I feel like it needs a shirt to avoid her skin being seen through the shirt, I... don't buy that shirt because it seems inappropriately. |
+1. I can't visualize what kind of shirt I'd put my girl in that would have this issue. Also what "everything" is your child showing?? |
