No one is shaming the child. |
My slender 10 year old needs a bralette you know-nothing mother of boys |
Same when mine was about 9.5. She’s 10 on Sunday and wears a little half cami “bra” each day. It’s like she has little puffy nipples- no breast tissue but enough she needs something. |
10 year olds should wear training bras |
+1 but only for certain fabrics. A thick cotton t shirt or sweatshirt/sweater doesn't need anything. But dryfit/polyester/athletic type clothing she needs it. |
Ugh. I'm a less than A cup and often go "bra less". My rising 3rd grader (just turning 8 yo) has zero breast buds... She needs nothing. That said, I felt traumatized by the lack of boobs since age 10 and am happy to make her feel like her peer with a bra. She hasn't asked for it yet... I expect this convo will be coming later this year. |
My 9 year old doesn't need one, so, no. |
Go get her a bra. Don’t make her ask. I had to ask my mother and it was awful as I was so self conscious. |
My 9 yr old wears sports bras with athletic tank tops to tennis since the material is clingy and the arm holes are large. Other than that she has no buds.
I don't plan on making her wear a bra in regular clothes if she is comfortable without. I will give her the choice when i notice more development (or if she brings it up sooner), but whether or not to wear one will be up to her. |
Yes, I’m not sure how this hasn’t come up already but my older kids all had one by at least 10-11 because they start changing for gym in 6th grade. Whether they needed one or not, they didn’t want to be the only ones in the locker room without one. |
