Yes 100% those Gucci loafers pictured above are what a certain set of WASPs wear. Chevy Chase Club types.

PP here. And I am shocked (shocked, I tell you!) to hear people say WASPs don’t wear them. They are part of the WASP middle-aged man uniform. Go to Millie’s or Wagshal’s or Black Salt and count them!!

They are definitely a rich-guy shoe, but are they a WASP shoe? I see Waspy middle-aged guys waddling around in Bean boat shoes or mocs as part of their casual weekend uniform.

Hmm true. There is a slightly less dressy weekend day uniform. Which is usually a more casual button down and khaki pants with a more casual loafer etc. I'm really talking about work uniform, church uniform, dinner party, go to the club for drinks in a blazer uniform.
