Men often seem to take longer to grow into a really handsome look.

I love Shemar Moore. I agree that Paul Newman, Clint Eastwood, James Dean - were all very handsome men.

I like more rugged guys as well...Ethan Hawke for example.

OP here. Exactly. This is a double standard where women actually care a lot more about attractive women, than about attractive men. I am going to be honest here, I don't watch most movies for substance any more, but I like some eye candy. At least easy on the eyes, but the fact that we have pages on the other thread just proves the point that women judge and tear apart other women viciously. I will never understand why.

I don't think you have proved this at all. It is just for women we have more words for describing their beauty. Men's beauty is less interesting to us, so we just call them "handsome" if they have chiseled features and leave it at that. For women, we have all kinds of words to describe different beauties.

I am only posting this for laughs. I am the one who added Alexander Skarsgard to the list on the previous page.

Just to defend him, he isn’t balding. He shaved his head for a part recently. Normally he is smoking.

I totally agree with your first point. I look at pictures of my SO in his late teens/early twenties and all I think is "awkward!" He grew into himself at around 27/28 - a good age for men generally .
