That's not entirely true. Both Canada and Australia allow elderly parents to immigrate, which this bill does not.

it has a special visa for elderly parents that allows them to live here.

That's completely different from what Canada and Australia have which allows elderly parents to immigrate to the country permanently.

i am an immigrant who knows a lot of immigrants. how many immigrants do you know?

no, i don't have a research paper to back it up. i did take a cursory look at the literature on immigrants and immigration. it's garbage. so even i bothered to pull something to back up my claims you shouldn't put too much faith in it.
