From our experience, Montessori really doesn't work with all kids. For Montessori to work well, kids need to have enough of a level of ability to work independently, and that typically comes at different maturity levels and different ages for kids.

In my experience traditional curriculum (in desks, everyone learning the same thing at the same time, etc.) doesn't work for all kids either.

Feel like Montessori is a tried and true - child centered method. Seems there is much experimentation in education these days - which can be good and can be bad. I will stick with strong and time tested.
