Wait.....when was this? Ted said that about his wife or Robyn? Gotta give the writers credit. Wasn't it just a few weeks ago we were ll talking about how boring the show was this year? |
Yeah, but if robin is the one that kicks the bucket, he'd be tearing up at the memory of her and her mother. It would be more about tearing up over that mother daughter moment of the long lost robin than of some generic mother missing a child's wedding. That, or the possibility that robin somehow becomes a mother non-biologically. OR . . . He tears up because "aunt robin" won't be at his kids' weddings. Yep. I'm going with Robin buys the farm. |
why are you guys guessing robin? i haven't noticed any foreshadowing of robin's demise, but I have seen it of "the mother." i do think the pp's theory interesting that Ted is dead and the whole series has been his kids watching a video of him describing how he met their mother. sad either way! |
Off and on over the years, after learning robin would never have kids, I felt like she would somehow end up being stepmom to ted's children. |

I think the mother dies too. Did you notice in the scene at the restuarant that Ted looks a lot older but the mother has barely aged at all? |
Yes but I think she is supposed to be younger than him on the show... I read where the director said that none of the theories she's heard are correct but of course if she confirmed it, a lot of people wouldn't watch. |
Except that in the wedding weekend scenes, Ted and the mother appear at least somewhat close in age. Even if she is younger than him, she would be showing signs of aging by the time he gets to be the age he is supposed to be at the restaurant. I agree re: director. Sure the folks involved with the show want to encourage the debate. Keeps interest up. |
