The fact is that some people smell more than others, so some may feel the need to shower 1-2x a day. Your "scent" is because of genetics and your diet.
+! to PP who said that the most noticeable stink are those who shower daily but who don't launder their clothes regularly. That is the worst smell in the world. |
Says the American who went to Europe once on a back packing trip in the 90s. So cute are you! You realize Europe is a big place with many different countries right? Maybe if your educational standards were up to ours, you would know the diffences between Norway and Italy and Holland and Turkey are huge. |
Seriously, try living in India or a non-civilized country. People in this country amaze me. |
Yes. I also workout hard every day so I am a sweaty mess. |
i shower every day, sometimes twice. i stink if i don't. or i think i stink - i am used to being very clean, so i notice very quickly if i'm smelly. |
Wow! I don't think anyone here sounds like they have terribly dry or excema-riddled skin. In our family, our skin is so dry (generations of dryness on both sides of the family) I do believe it would crack and fall off if we were to shower or bathe every day. It literally hurts just thinking about doing that! Dermatoligists have told us, "Do not bathe every day because the water strips the oils from your skin, and it's not really necessary." Most times, after a shower or bath, my skin burns from the dryness until I slather on some heavy-duty, nonscented lotion and let it soak in. Usually, after about 24 hours, it stops hurting bc the natural oils have finally built back up a bit until I feel like my skin is like "normal people.". Sponge-bathing in between reg. showers and baths is the way we keep clean without absolutely decimating our skin.
(Same with our hair and scalps. Terribly dry and painful. Utter and complete frizz bomb on day one after shampoo, getting towards normal on 2nd day, wash on day 3 or 4.) This is pretty much how most people in my family are. |
I don't shower everyday. In fact, I hate showering. On average, I take about 3-4 showers a week...sometimes less. On my "off" days, I take hoe baths. My armpits and general body areas do not get sweaty/stinky; hoe baths are strictly to keep the vag clean and nice smelling.
If I feel/get sweaty, I shower. |
I shower every day, sometime 2 to 3 times. My kids, 10 and 14 shower every morning before going to school, and at night before going to bed. Growing up in the Caribbean that's how I did it as a child, and now my kids do it that way.......lol |
PS A plus side to this type of skin was not having to deal with acne as a teenager. ![]() ![]() |
Every other day. On "off" days, I wash the vag, armpits, etc. |
I shower everyday 2 times a day. I shower before work (after working out). I shower after coming home from work (especially in the summer). It doesnt take much heat to make me sweat and in the summer I sweat like nobody's business. |
I shower every night, but only wash my hair every 4-5 days. I can go a full week between hair washes if I get a professional blow dry. Hair looks best days 2-4 after wash. I also don't wash my face, but have skin that seems to do better this way. I can count on two hands the number of breakouts I've had in my lifetime.
Agree with PPs that some people just need to wash/shower more than others. Also agree that people who don't launder clothes enough smell worse than those who don't shower. I've accidentally gone to work wearing a shirt one too many times and can barely stand the smell on myself - can't imagine how it smells to others. Those are the days I will run out during lunch and buy a new shirt! |
I shower after working out and before bed. Sometimes if I am sick and stay home I may not shower. Sometimes I only shower once if I work out at night (I wait an hour or two until I am ready for bed).
I couldn't NOT shower after working out, I'd be way too gross. |
I shower every day (sometimes twice), but I don't usually shower till after my workout, and my workout is usually 11-12. So I will go to work for a couple hours before showering unless I have a big meeting or I was sweating in the night. |
I shower every day. I don't always wash my hair (I put my hair in a towel and it doesn't get wet). My skin is dry, but I wouldn't think of showering without tons of lotion after the shower. |
