I guess it goes back to supply and demand.

Absolutely. There are lots of teachers out there looking for work.

And of course, low demand and high supply results in lower salary offerings.

Thank goodness for those teacher unions and teacher contracts to guarantee salaries!

Actually, few lawyers make the kind of money you're talking about. That's no. 1. No. 2, there are plenty of people (lawyers and non) that when you work out PER HOUR salary (considering after hours work) the difference is not that significant.

Listen, I respect teachers and would happily support more pay for them. However, it is quite annoying ot hear them talk about how hard they work for so little pay. MANY, many people are in the same boat. And, teachers know this going into it.

And as for the bad child times 30 plus vomit poster, I have many friends/family who are teachers. I question your school or class. NONE of them ever have or would describe their job as you do. You may consider moving to another profession if it bothers you that much.

I would prefer to abolish early release on Mondays, but I want the time spread out during the week so school might end at 3:00. This works for teachers who can use that extra time for meetings throughout the week rather than in one lump time on Monday. It might work for working parents because everything will get readjusted across the week routinely. It really works for stay at home mom's who want a little extra time to let kids play before homework, sports, dinner, clubs, etc. I could really use an extra 30 minutes. It doesn't seem like much, but it is almost dark an hour after kids get home. That early Monday is spent trying to cram the week's worth of homework in so that the rest of the week is manageable. An
