It does seem like he prefers having his staff prioritize videos vs you know, keeping schools open. |
Please. Speak for yourself. Not your neighbors.
They wrote why they weren't opening on Monday. The ROADS weren't ready. Nor are they ready for Tuesday morning to start around 8:30am for high school buses. The county is large. The roads are NOT ready. The sidewalks may have improved if the county began sidewalk enforcement today. They should not be shamed for doing their job. They should close schools Tuesday too because conditions for buses have NOT changed since today. Find a babysitter if you can't be a damn parent to your kids. |
There is no reason, none, for them to stay closed. I care about my kids education. They made the right call with the delay tomorrow |
Paraeducators who get the day off and get paid (most of them) and don't have to deal with students? Front office staff who didn't have to show up on a day like today? Teachers would much rather be in the classrooms if they are going to teach. Teachers also plan and grade outside school so they could be doing all that during a snow week anyways. |
Most paraeducators are considered temporary staff. They don't get paid leave or benefits. |
Fixed that for you. And truly, find an online school if your family can't venture outside under less than perfect conditions. Otherwise step up and demonstrate some resilliance for your own kids. |
Some DCUM posters have reported receiving emails from CO staff members, so I am sure some of them were working. I know there are certain legally required things that have to be sent by a certain date. However, yes, MCPS was in Code Red all week last week which means offices were closed. Nobody except essential workers were required to work at all. Montgomery County Government, on the other hand, was only fully closed on Monday. On Tuesday it was liberal leave. By Wednesday, it was just open, no liberal leave. Folks were just expected to go to work like normal and like everyone else in the county except for MCPS and MC. |
Clearly these are not the folks MCPS cares about |
|
So can I start reporting neighbors for not shoveling their sidewalks in a school walking zone?
|
I'm sure he's happy the Mad Mommies of MoCo approve.
|
Yes, make sure to report the MCPS properties that haven't been shoveled |
Get back to work slacker |
| I am glad there is finally some accountability with the bus depot. They are terrible at answering calls and it is hard to find out which depot to call. Now it is spelled out. |
You should find a new job. Attendance was dismal. Feel sorry for any kids you have. |
My kids said everyone was at school. I'm sure it wasn't truly everyone, but they would have noticed if attendance was significantly down. |
