From my view point republicans as a whole at this point would actually not hesitate to shoot a person if they got in the way of their “America (white person) first agenda”. Please tell me I am wrong.

No, you give them a little food to hold them over for a short time and a path out of poverty. You don't make them reliant of the government forever so their lives never improve like he Democrats do, all for votes. Democrats continue to hurt these people but making them more and more dependent on them. It is disgusting.

How about increasing the minimum wage then? Not everyone is cut out to be a hedge fund manager, thank god. Make it so that working 40 hours a week actually gets you a decent standard of living.

How do you, personally, give the child a path out of poverty?

As a conservative, who sometimes votes republicans, I'll give you my perspective. I was not happy with Trump on the withholding of SNAP funds. It was cruel and wrong.

So you are correct - Trump was/is on the wrong side of this.

There are so many big and important policy issues we as a country are fighting over. Despite this one being bad for Trump and the Republicans, it does not move the needle on making the Democrats more palatable.

This is why all of this is hopeless. Even those who disagree with one or two things Trump does will never feel compelled to vote against him, because the net benefit to them is still greater. This is the attitude of every single upper-middle class Trump voter (primarily Boomer-aged) I know.

Seek counseling.

Your post indicates a lack of maturity and that you are out of touch with reality.

And FWIW, I am a registered Democrat who does help out others in need.

A lot of these hedge fund managers don't seem to be all that bright either - mostly it's a function of being in the right place at the right time with the right connections.

DP... how is the PP out of touch with reality when so many of us see Republicans doing exactly that through their actions and deeds?

If an employer is taking that kind of a substantial chunk out of someone's life, they should have to pay a livable wage. If the employer thinks "they aren't worth paying that much" then it's not actually the employee's problem, it's the employer's problem because their flawed business model is exploitative, doesn't charge enough / can't make enough, and depends on underpaying labor.

Because, we have enough taste to not politicize suffering for personal gain.

No one in the U.S. is starving. Come on, even our children are fat.

If I saw a starving child in the street, my first question would be where are your parents and why aren’t THEY caring for this child? If we really cared for these kids, SNAP would not allow people to purchase items that have zero nutritional value. And very strict limits on how long someone can use them. No one should ever be allowed to generationally be on SNAP.

And holy hyperbole Batman with the “ republicans as a whole at this point would actually not hesitate to shoot a person if they got in the way of their “America (white person) first agenda”.

You are not well if you really believe this. Seek help.

SNAP already restricts what can be bought and beneficiaries who can work have lifetime limits. And you can be fat and starving at the same time.

Republicans just incur suffering for political gain but then don't want to talk about it (other than to blame Dems for it)

What do you know you're not even starving.

The former merit pubic support as a moral imperative. The latter, not so much.

Why won’t you answer OP’s question. It’s a yes or no.

No one is going to answer a straw man argument.

Spoken like an exploiter of other human beings. I hope you don’t get eaten when the masses rise up.
