Question about strip club payments

With $500 we could go out to a really fancy dinner. We could make a nice charitable donation at Christmas. We could fly one of the kids out to visit my mom. We could both get a really nice pair of shoes.

It really seems like a lot of money to just throw away.

But you’re otherwise okay with your husband cavorting with a strange naked woman?

My thought is that this is on his conscience and his burden to bear.

I don’t know. I’m tired right now, and I have never actually been in this position. But the idea of playing Nancy Drew meets Jimminy Cricket in order to sleuth out DH’s wrongdoings and explain why they are immoral sounds exhausting.

OP here- no, I’m not ok with it. I’m trying to get a sense of what likely happened as a starting point. For starters, I would think that payment for a dance or VIP room entry would be paid directly to the club, and not to a dancer directly via Venmo. Is this correct? So my assumption is that the $500 “tip” is for extras

He had sex with the woman. End of story.

This. Come on, OP.

OP go watch Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise- this exact scenario happened. Miami strip club and guy paid for sx. It was about this amount.

^ It was a reality show in 2024

I don’t have a lot of experience in this realm, but when I’ve had lap dances in my early 20s there was no getting off and I sat on my hands. I did give the money directly to the woman, not the club.

I think it is entirely possible that this guy paid for a longer session in a private room (rather than a little booth or other setup) and there was no sex involved. They also squeeze money out of you but having you “buy” the girl a drink at ridiculous rates. It is effectively a tip and then you tip again at the end. It is really an efficient money-making endeavor.

Thats, at minimum, a very long private room dance. It’s possible in Miami but fyi a lot of clubs do have policy against using cash apps so this points to off the books activity

That's paid to the club. Not directly to the sex worker.

Sex costs more than $500. Especially from a stripper in Miami. Not sure what transpired, but unlikely it was good ole fashioned sex. Maybe she ripped him off when he was drunk. It happens.

There are things you can get ... that are certainly sex ... for $500. You can even get p in v for that amount "from a stripper in Miami." It depends on the stripper and how her night and finances are going.

So he paid for sEX with her.

Strippers who give lap dances have to "tip out" to the club so this amount is paid to the club itself and they take out their cut. When strippers prostitute themselves they get the full amount. This used to be frowned upon and clubs could fire a stripper over this but not anymore. There is no way just a lap dance cost $500. He had sex with her.

I think you need to have more respect for yourself since some how a lap dance with a naked woman grinding on him is ok but sex isn't. Those aren't really healthy boundaries are they?

Anonymous wrote:DH sent $500 directly to a stripper at a fully nude strip club in the Miami area—ie, did not pay this fee to the club directly. He claims Miami is expensive and that the payment was for a lap dance. I call BS. How much would a lap dance cost, would the cost be paid to the club or directly to the stripper via Venmo, how much would you tip a woman for a lap dance, and what is the most likely explanation? I have a hard time believing that an “innocent” lap dance costs $500 regardless of the geographical location.

He hired the lady to be with him. Sorry.....

In a high-end Miami strip club, a single lap dance generally costs between $25 and $50 per song.
For a more private and extended experience in a VIP room, the costs are significantly higher:
15 minutes: $100 - $200
30 minutes: $250 - $400
1 hour: $500 - $1000+
Prices can vary depending on the specific dancer, the length of the dance, and the specific club's policies. Some well-known clubs, such as Tootsie's Cabaret, list their starting price for a dance at around $25. Clubs in Miami are generally more expensive than those in other parts of Florida, and prices are often negotiated with the dancer or a host.

There's a lot of speculation here, but ultimately, I'm surprised any of you would be okay if he actually just paid a stripper $500 for a lap dance. Going to a strip club is cheating, or at least it is in my marriage. And spending marital funds on a stripper? Hard no. I'd divorce him.
