What does their sexuality have to do with anything?

The University of Alabama's percentage of black students is roughly 12%. That is 1% below the population of the US, as a whole.

If you are black and would prefer a majority black university, that's fine. However, it doesn't mean Alabama "lacks in diversity."

I didn't know Jews were people of color. Someone forgot to let the progressive left know.

In all seriousness what is BIPOC? A pale skinned white Middle Easterner is not a black American. Or a south Asian.

Jesus likely wasn't pale. I would consider him to be a person of color.

Great question!

But it's difficult to know. How would we know what percentage of Latino is white latino, which is not considered BIPOCs.

But in general, would be comforable if white+white latino is less than 40%. Then again it's difficult to know.

Also prefer having at least > 20% FGLI percentage, no matter what race.

Please tell me this is a troll. Do people really think this way?

They understand that no college is going to be as diverse as DCPS but it matters to them to be around people of different backgrounds, experiences, etc. They don't want to just hang out with white kids who have gone to majority white suburban schools in the midwest who have never met anyone of another color.

Congratulations on being insufferable.

This. Plus, the PP saying a school over 40% white is a problem. The US is majority white, but they want their college to be something different? Bizarre.

Overall the college students in the US is ~40% white. Now all the sudden a school is 60% white, that's not national average. A lot of maga kids dont' go to college. With trump promoting trade schools, the decline of the number of white college students will only continue.

There are ways to say that one values diversity without sounding like an elitist douche bag but I’m not seeing it on this thread.

Is it still woke if you swap BIPOC for male or female?

We’re not black. POC does not equate to black. Diversity does not refer only to black/white balance. Alabama is not diverse in more than 1 way.

I hate the terms BIPOC and POC. Should we use “people of no color” (PONC) to describe White people?

This is like asking why there’s no Anglo-American History month. Bit&$, do you not understand that every month is Anglo-American History month. For all the whining about liberal snowflakes and wokeness, no group gets more butthurt about the prospect of ceding power and being the center of the culture than white people.

Over 70% of americans are white. Why is it so surprising that society reflects this?

Is Asian part of BIOPIC?

It depends. If they are woke then they are BIPOC, it they are not woke then they are tools of the MAGA right.

The amount of diversity in a student body is something many people consider for good reasons. It has meaning. But there are a lot of things to consider. If it's something you don't personally consider, great. But if you are saying it in an aggressive manner or are rudely dismissive of those that do care, your answers are saying something about you.

Is it possible you are hearing a tone or aggressiveness that isn't there?

The country went crazy in that period. We are returning to sanity through the least sane route possible.
