I don't understand why this is a tacky question. Most universities can also name their famous alumni, and will even invite them to speak at graduations etc.

I went to a private school in Midwest, and I've always been aware of at least a few of our famous alumni.

Yes Cathedral schools have many well known alums.

Josh Stamberg went to Maret. He's been in a miilion shows. Heather Langenkamp went to NCS. She was in the first Nightmare on Elm Street. Jeffrey Wright went to St. Albans. Julia Louis Dreyfu--Holton Arms. And her sister Laura Bowles has worked a lot in TV.

It’s a question for insecure strivers to ask. Most self aware people don’t want to project this level of insecurity. In addition is also says LMC-

I don’t think Dave Grohl went to Burke, he went to public. Ditto Ta-Nehisi Coates. Anna D-S bio says Western HS. That website is bs.

Yes, and he never went to Burke!

He went to Thomas Jefferson (VA) as a freshman, then his mom had him transfer to Bishop Ireton b/c of his drug use. He repeated freshman year there through sophomore year. Then he transferred yet again to Annandale High School. He visited there a few years ago. He never graduated, left for a band.
