This is actually horrifying. Kids with 1500+ getting rejected at UVA at our private. 1080 is LOW and means that high GPA is inflated. |
Agree - getting into UVA with a 1080 SAT is not the flex you think it is... |
Please don't pull his application. If all else is good, that will not matter, particularly if you indicate you don't want scores considered. |
Please don't listen to this. Jeez. |
Wow. You're a horrible person. |
Not true, last fall's entering class had an SAT at 1510 at the 75th percentile, a 1470 at the median, and a 1410 at the bottom 25th percentile. See SCHEV. |
What was his weighted and unweighted gpa? His Ecs? |
What are you talking about? UVA is test optional. Follow along. Those scores do not represent all the kids at UVA with scores like the PP (1080 SAT). That is awful. UVA should feel ashamed and start requiring scores again. What a joke. |
|
+1 People like the PP must truly think everyone else is too dumb to understand what's happening here. TO means that only the very highest scores are shown. All of the kids who go TO obviously had much lower scores (or they wouldn't have gone TO!). |
+2 This. 41% went test optional. |
I would worry that the HS counselors are intentionally taking on a role here. When they should not. Our experience was the counselors did *not* like any approach that involved a strategy. My guess is they are doing what they can to thwart your strategy. |
| UVA parents think their kids are smarter than they truly are! It’s an epidemic. |
|
1300 is a pretty good SAT Score.
Why wouldn’t he have a decent shot with that ? |
I get it to an extent. The school is a bargain. I would love if my kid ended up at UVA. It is cheap in-state for a great education. But blasting these test scores like UVA is filled with brilliant kids is hysterically funny when 40% of the class couldn’t even score high enough to submit. |
