Don't most streets have sidewalks? There are several grocery stores nearby: Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh, Giant. Can walk to coffee!

It’s likely that a majority don’t…but a significant minority do. Best estimates are that 35%-40% do.

CC covers a larger area than perhaps you think.

I think a majority do. Mine were at BCC and I am pretty sure that 2/3rds of the neighborhood kids went there.

Except, BCC covers Bethesda, CC and what I would consider Western Silver Spring (though I don't know if the parts West of Grubb Road, but call it East of Brookfield Rd are considered Silver Spring or CC or what). This thread is specifically about CC, MD.

Whatever. I am pp and i live in the town of ch ch. my impression is that two-thirds of the kids here go to BCC.

It takes 5 minutes to drive to safeway, giant, or wholefoods. 10 max. But i prefer to walk or cycle to trader joes or bethesda, which takes no time at all. Lots of restaurants, cinema etc within walking distance from the town of chevy chase.

This is like US magazine when they have the segment “Stars, they are just like us”.

That’s your contribution on Chevy Chase MD? They have protests. You forgot to mention they also have grocery stores and drug stores and schools and sidewalks.

Isn't it obvious the area would have stores? But protests? People do not know that unless you say it.

Every place has protests. Every place. If they happened every week that would be one thing…but happening on a day when there were literally hundreds of protests across the country, isn’t noteworthy.

No not every place has protests on random days. Whether it is 10 or 100 people in Cc MD protesting, the area has residents willing to be outside/be seen protesting instead of just talking about need to protest.

Did you get them before you left section 3?

Casual racism like this is why I, as an independent, am voting straight Republican from now on. It’s endemic on the left.

It’s a nice area to raise kids. Parents seem to be focused on education, given the wealth and education of the area, and there are a good amount of international kids whose parents work at embassies and the world bank. If your idea of a good school is a lot of poor kids so you can feel smug sending your kids there, maybe not so much.

Politics in schools mean there is too much focus on popular ideas in schools vs academics. Teachers have been ok, but underwhelming given the school ranks. Schools don’t seem to push for engaged teaching the way they push for agendas.

Taxes are high. Shopping on the higher end is on a lifeline, close to non existent. Dining is ok but not on the higher end and there are better mid range options 30 minutes north.

Local politics mean more dense development and more apartment buildings. Not apparently any focus on attracting businesses or wealthy families. Overall, more expensive than VA as well.

It wasn’t a random day.

NP. I voted for Obama twice, Hillary Clinton and Biden, but held my nose and voted for Trump the last election. Yes, there are many of us who are turned off by how perfectly acceptable reverse racism has become. No racism, period.

Just admit you are a piece of shit and you voted affirmatively for the MAGA agenda. You didn’t hold your nose at all.

Apparently many Blacks are conservative and agree with "maga"-ish things. But apparently think Dems do better on race relations and race issues generally.
