it's a formula based on years in service to a max of 52 weeks; but severance is paid out biweekly like salary and i don't think it would be paid out while the gov is shut down.

In my Division at NIH, we were sent a list of about 6-7 allowed reasons to access GFE during the shutdown. One was to check for RIF status.

BTW, this is new - we were never given allowed reasons of any kind in the past.

Yep. And we'll end up paying the bill for all the security that these evil doers ask Trump for.

Only until they get fired or the administration changes. They don't keep their security detail once their fed job ends. Even if they do somehow keep it, Trump has set the precedent of pulling security details from members of the previous administration.
