The County owns the land and receives annual lease payments from the stadium operator to offset construction costs of $17m that were contributed by the County. I believe the lease term is 30 years.

Does the county know that USL has plans of making Loudoun’s team the third tier of soccer pyramid in USA after next World Cup? That term of 30 years is going to be loooooong for the taxpayers. My bet is that venue is dismantled in under 5 years and lawsuits will be flying left and right.

Probably not…the board is most likely fixated on approving the next data center(s).

Cheated on this pregnant wife with 4 different women, two of whom were moms of his 07G black team. Names were dropped. Screenshots were taken. Moderator deleted a post about also engaging minors. Investigations are allegedly en course also for fraud and embezzlement. Not a good look for Jim either as all of this happened under his wing.

So, there was a whole of business about this guy outside of soccer as well - personal business was not on the up and up either.

What a mess and it seems that things maybe finally caught up with him.

It will be interesting to see where Loudoun United ends up - do they volunteer to drop down to USL1 from USLC? That might be a better fit for them overall. It was mentioned before, but comparing the experience at Segra Field to Highmark Field where the Riverhounds play is night and day. Especially since they announced a large stadium expansion as well.

It think USL1 would suit them, plus it could become a good rivalry with the Richmond Kickers who dropped down when USL1 first came on the seen. It has been beneficial for the Kickers - crowds are about the same as before, but the expenses make more sense.

They don’t have any say. The league will automatically demote all underperforming teams such as Loudoun.

And they will be demoted. USL announced last summer that a promotion relegation system is coming in their structure:

USL D1 - first tier
USL Championship - second tier
USL League One - third tier

Begs the question, will Coach Ryan and those players accept a reduction in financial compensation for whatever it is they believe they do?

Coach Ryan won’t be back - by his choice - can’t get away from this leadership team fast enough.
