Yes

+1.

Anybody who can’t understand that these speakers came for free because they are selling a product is being willfully ignorant.

Do you have a source for this?

Who do I need to contact to find out how much money was spent on this? Multiple renovation plans have been delayed due to lack of funding …teachers were told to purchase their own tissues and hand sanitizer…I’m curious who funded this endeavor and why they deemed it a necessary investment. Especially since it appears only central office employees and administrators benefited from it. What about the basic needs of students and teachers?

What about travel fees? Food? Security? All employees that attended were surely paid for their time. School starts in less than 2 weeks, and most administrators gathered here instead of their job sites? There is no work that needs to be done at their schools?

And even IF he was so generous to speak for free, surely he was doing it to peddle his prodcuct. Who were his target customers? MCPS administrators. Would he travel here here to sell a few books? No…it would have to be worth his while and he knows MCPS has deep pockets. Zippo chance he was here giving a motivational talk out of the goodness of his heart

Completely disgraceful. An organization that is of public service, leads with the Pledge of Allegiance and invites someone who supports the opposite. Poor executive.

This is a 1 day leadership conference that administrators attend every single year, they're 12 month employees, they've been at their sites all summer, relax.

I haven’t heard a pledge done in YEARS

They brought in people to pitch trendy AI and VR tools? Ugh.

(You guys are focused on the wrong problem here, as usual.)

Another glaring example of the tone deafness that is MCPS.

We are relaxed. We paid for their time to listen to a no bid vendor pitch. Will competitors get the same access?
