OP here. I am not recommending this to anyone, but as for myself, I am far from frail, I feel and look great, my labs are fantastic and I am looking forward to my walks every day. I am no more completely invisible and I just fit comfortably into my size 28 jeans that I haven't worn in 15 years. I can suddenly climb many stairs and steep hills easily where I used to struggle with a floor or two.

I experienced exactly zero pain over the past 5 months. I was always good at walking, could walk long distances where people who were much more fit would complain - I just wasn't doing it enough and consistently. When I reach my goal weight I plan to maintain at least 20k steps, though to be honest, on days when I only do that much (e.g. travel etc), I feel like I want to walk more.

You are not walking "30,000" steps a day.

Absolutely possible!! I do it all the time. Walk with intention in the morning.. desk job during the day but up for walk breaks occasionally... evening walk after dinner. At least 30k steps a day. And no it did not take me 4 hours.

Congratulations OP on discovering anorexia. I’m glad it is working for you.

First, congrats. Second, I hope you can maintain it. Losing weight by exteme dieting isn't the way as you are more likely to gain it back.

I wish you luck

You won't be able to maintain that

You don’t have loose neck skin? Loose upper arm skin?

no, it's not. I am short with a tiny frame. I shouldn't eat more than 1100 to maintain. that's less than a milkshake away from 700.

700 and 1100 are both disordered eating. Seek help!

I am pretty sure I will. I was at that weight for many many years.

I am not sure this is true. I read about very low calorie diets and they seem superior to normal diets in terms of outcomes.

Anonymous wrote:How do you have the time to walk 30,000 steps and the energy to do it while eating so little? I am over 210 pounds right now. Last year I lost about 15 pound and it was extremely hard for me. I aimed to eat between 1200-160O calories per day, walk and obviously wasn’t successful, with my slow weight loss in 12 months. I was hungry all of the time and frequently didn’t follow my own plan.

I started a prescribed shot 1.5 weeks ago and lost 4-5 pounds easily already. I didn’t want to take the shot but see why people do it.

OP has the best will power in the world or is a troll.

when i was eating or trying to eat 1200-1500 calories per day, i was starving. i was thinking about food all the time, planning the next meal, thinking about stuff that i was going to eat "when this is over". eating around 700 solved all that. i am not hungry. I know it sounds weird, but it's easier than losing 15 lbs over a year by eating 1500 calories. you get quick results that make you motivated and, as i said, you are not hungry, it's like your stomach becomes smaller and you just can't handle big portions anymore. the first few days are hard, but then you get used to it and it's actually easier that 1500.

I agree with this. I couldn’t eat for six months due to a life-threatening illness. 400 cal a day was a very good day. But put me on a 1200-1500 cal diet and all I can think of is food.

Were you starving all the time?

as I explained I am not starving and I am not hungry. I was much hungrier on 1200-1500

You’re not hungry because you starved yourself.

You're relying on the iPhone to log your steps?

M'kay; now the absurdity of your claims makes sense.

is there something wrong with that?

Yes. It’s not accurate.

Evidence?

The evidence is every one of us who walks 25K+ steps at Disney and know what that looks like. It can't be done in a normal workday.

Having said that, I think OP is probably on to something with the theory of "shrinking" your stomach for long term results.

I just walked 25,000 steps at magic kingdom last week. Here’s what that looked like: woke up. Walked to get breakfast. Walked it back to my hotel room. Walked with my family to the bus stop. Walked from the bus stop to the entrance of the park. Walked, non-stop in MK for 8 hours straight. Walked back to the bus stop. Walked back to the hotel room. This is very clearly a troll post.
