UPDATE: Oscar Eduardo Ortega, 43, of Mexico, was arraigned today in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, where he pleaded not guilty to one count of being an illegal alien found in the United States following deportation. A federal magistrate judge ordered him jailed without bond. Trial is scheduled for September 8.

After being deported to Mexico twice, he returned to our country, where he killed two young people in a DUI accident and where he served only 3½ years out of a 10-year sentence in California state prison. Governor Newsom let down the victims’ families by allowing this criminal to be released from prison after barely serving a third of his sentence. Call us when he’s part of an international child rape ring like certain other people.

I’m not sure what point you think you are making here, that sometimes they accidentally catch an actual criminal?

Ok, participation trophy for you.

The point is that at least someone is seeking justice for these victims who were killed by this illegal alien. If California refuses to ensure the safety of citizens it is up to the federal government to do so.

What is this bogus "at least someone is seeking justice" narrative? Why do you insist on repeating this FALSE NARRATIVE that somehow liberals give illegals a pass if they commit serious crimes? Like, state and local police arrive on the scene of a rape or murder and put the guy in cuffs but then when they discover he's an illegal just say "oh, it's OK, you can walk" and uncuff him and send him on his merry way? Or that the judge says "oh, I see you're an illegal alien, so all charges are dismissed and have a nice day?"

You are absolutely deranged with your repeated insistence that illegal aliens who commit felonies are given a pass by liberals. It's absolutely and demonstrably false. Here for example are two illegal aliens who were ARRESTED, CHARGED, TRIED, CONVICTED and SENT TO PRISON in deep blue New York City, and later turned over to ICE: https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/ice-buffalo-arrests-mexican-criminal-aliens-felony-convictions

The very people you claim give illegals a pass are the ones who did the arresting, charging, trial, conviction and imprisonment before ICE even showed up on the scene to collect them for deportation.

So STOP STOP STOP your nonsense claims that liberals don't support going after felons who are illegal aliens. They support going after ALL felons, regardless of citizenship status. Get it right, and stop your constant lying and false narratives.

I just posted this in another thread. Tell us that liberals are all in on arresting criminal illegal aliens. Their actions prove otherwise.....

We have so many examples of illegal aliens, especially in sanctuary cities and states, who have been charged AND CONVICTED of crimes, yet instead of ensuring they are deported, they allow them to walk the streets. Just like the guy above with 67 bookings (look up the case of Javier Dimas-Alcantar). Why was he allowed out on the streets again and again when authorities KNEW he was present illegally, had been ordered deported twice, and continued to commit crimes?

And, then there is the case of Wisconsin Judge Dugan who assisted an illegal alien escape the courthouse during a hearing in which he was facing criminal charges of strangulation, battery, suffocation, and domestic abuse. He had previously been deported and reentered the US, a felony.
I don't recall any elected official expressing outrage at the actions of Judge Dugan.

And, just one more local example..... the case of David Cabrera in Arlington, VA.......

Guatemala national David Cabrera was collared by ICE last week after being set free by sanctuary-aligned jurisdiction Arlington County, who refused to honor a federal detainer and released him without notifying ICE.

In a video obtained by Fox News, Cabrera is seen roaming a local street before ICE agents initiate his arrest.

Cabrera entered the U.S. illegally in 2014 and was convicted of felony rape in 2015. He was sentenced to more than seven years in prison, although a portion of it was suspended.

He was released into ICE custody in 2017 and subsequently deported to Guatemala, but re-entered the U.S. again at an unknown time and date. He was then arrested again for a probation violation and deported again in 2020, only to re-enter again.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/twice-deported-mig...r-sanctuary-policies

These are just a few examples of liberals allowing illegal criminal migrants to walk the streets of their cities when they KNOW these people are here illegally and have committed crimes - usually MULTIPLE crimes.

You said "knowingly" - do you actually believe that NYPD has the ability to surveil the entire 8.5 to 9 million people coming and going in NYC at any given time to discover that the guy who was deported 3 years prior has come back? Really???

And if someone was adjudicated to be released early by the courts for whatever reason, you think that should never be a thing and that once you've committed a felony you should never be allowed onto American streets ever again? Does your view apply to US citizens as well?

You do seem to have some weird and impractical notions about how the world works.

My goodness. You folks are crazy. If an illegal alien commits a crime like rape, he should be deported. Period.
That is just not happening in these sanctuary cities.

AFTER due the process of a trial to determine guilt.

And if he is found not guilty, he shouldn’t be deported.

NP. Your continued use of "concentration camps" negates anything else you might have to say. You sound absurd.

Seriously. You'd think before posting something like that, someone might pick up a book and read about what things were like in the actual concentration camps.

But as Ann Coulter has stated repeatedly, liberals don't read books.

We’ve read the history. Based on everything I’ve seen, the detention centers currently used for undocumented immigrants in the U.S. rival - and in some cases surpass - the conditions found in the WWII-era internment camps for Japanese Americans. And yes, those camps have been accurately described as “concentration camps” by historians, legal scholars, and even government officials.

If you're unfamiliar with that context, it's not too late to catch up. The absence of gas chambers doesn't erase the defining traits: mass incarceration, racial targeting, lack of due process, and dehumanizing conditions.

Compared side by side, Bukele’s CECOT facility and the U.S.-based "Alligator Alcatraz" arguably represent an evolution toward even harsher systems. Allegations of torture, starvation, deaths, maggot-infested food, blocked access to lawyers and media — these go beyond spartan confinement. WWII internment camps had federal oversight. These newer facilities operate with alarming impunity.

So yes, we are holding people in environments that meet the criteria of modern-day concentration camps. You can argue semantics or invoke talking points, but your position won’t hold up to scrutiny against documented facts or scholarly analysis.

Bukele's CECOT: many instances of torture and over 150 known deaths, by violent means.

These "one-off extreme cases" are happening at a much greater frequency than in the past.

And, you seem to have an issue with people who are opposed to illegal criminal aliens walking our streets citing cases in which these people are arrested.
Well, many of us take issue with the one-off cases you folks amplify where people have been picked up, temporarily detained, then released once identity is confirmed.

There are NO concentration camps. And, the majority of the very few cases in which "green card holders and others" are detained turn out to have circumstances that justify the detention.

Proof? any whatsoever?
For one thing, Texas is the only state that collects and reports data on residency status (legal, not legal, or citizen) in connection with crimes. In both homicides separately, and other crimes, the crime rate for illegals is the lowest, followed by legal immigrants, followed by citizens, who have the highest crime rate. So you'd be hard put to support for claim of "increasing frequency."

As for those "others," all we have to go on are the claims made by Homan and Noem, who are not reliable reporters, and when people are held incommunicado and often not allowed to speak to attorneys and don't get hearings you can't really say that such circumstances existed.

Yet another case of an illegal alien committing a heinous crime and allowed back on the streets in Chicago.....

Immigration authorities in Chicago arrested a Mexican illegal immigrant accused of decapitating a missing Illinois woman and storing her body in a storage container filled with bleach.

Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez, 52, of Waukegan, Illinois, was arrested in April and charged with concealing a corpse, abusing a corpse and obstruction of justice, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Immediately after his first court appearance, Lake County Judge Randie Bruno released Mendoza-Gonzalez from custody.

He was arrested again Saturday afternoon at a market in Chicago by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and remains in ICE custody, according to DHS.

"It is absolutely repulsive this monster walked free on Illinois’ streets after allegedly committing such a heinous crime," a DHS spokesperson told Fox News. "Megan Bos and her family will have justice."

After Mendoza-Gonzalez's release in April, Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner criticized laws that allowed the suspected criminal alien to be released, according to a report from affiliate FOX 32 Chicago.

"I was shocked to find out literally the next day that the person that they had arrested for this had been released from prison under the SAFE-T Act less than, detained less, I think, than 48 hours," Gartner said. "There's other extenuating circumstances in this case. Not only the type of crime, how long the crime was concealed, the fact that the person that was arrested for this is not a U.S. citizen, and, you know, can maybe [flee] the country."

It was a nonviolent offense. And an accident. That doesn't justify disappearing him to a concentration camp.
